Here are a couple of items that we are aware of that may just send the right message for a change. While the message certainly isn't the familiar mantra "go-along-to-get-along" from the past 8 years, it does say "I'm for change." Remember that one? Anyway, these two novelty items have caught our attention, and we thought our readership should know about them.

National Screw Day
Who says fighting injustice can't be fun? Have a blast protesting government lawlessness and expressing a universally-felt message with RHR's IRS Screw Tacks. Use them for fund raisers - they sell like crazy - and capture the interest of the everyday tax-hater in the cause. Our Screw Tack says it all, so simply and so eloquently that all who see it immediately feel the message in their own experiences.

Red Hen Resources has come up with a nifty little, and not so subtle lapel pin and tie tack for conversation starters just in time for National Screw Day... of course it is only National Screw Day for those of us who haven't learned the law and stopped filing yet. The No SSN Card
Here's a product nobody should be without. Ok, you've decided you don't have a use for Social Security anymore. You find the idea of being enumerated government inventory absolutely repulsive. You take your social security card and run it through the shredder. You value your privacy. So, what happenswhen you are asked for a photo ID? Your license has your ssn attached to it if not right on the face. How do you supply a photo ID and still let people know how you feel?

Here it is! The Ohh-Fish-ull NoSSN card. It has your photo, signature and date of birth. What more could anyone ask for. It's proof of age, and it says you are you. Where it says "Number" you have your choice of: None, non-enumerated, Declined to State. It even has a "real" NoSSN logo on it! Click here to get yours!

Digital Gold Offers Liquidity to Dollar-Spooked Investors

It's easy to see why gold was humanity's currency of choice for all those centuries. It doesn't tarnish or rust. It exists in limited quantity, making it hard for governments to manipulate. And it looks and feels comforting, a kind of metallic analogue of ice cream and chocolate.

It's also easy to see why we dumped it. A pocket full of gold is bulky, heavy and noisy, making it a poor choice for everyday use. And governments hate money they can't debase, which pretty much guaranteed that gold (and silver) would eventually be pushed out of circulation by fiat currencies like dollars, yen and euros.

But that may be about to change, thanks, ironically, to the Internet. Electronic payment systems have reduced the concept of money to its essence: information. Most payments are now simply electronic debits and credits, making it possible do the bulk of your getting and spending via credit cards, online checking accounts and, soon, payment-enabled cell phones.

Converted into bits in this way, gold once again becomes a viable -- some would say vastly superior -- kind of money. Conceptually, it works like this: You transfer some dollars or euros or whatever to a firm that buys gold for you and deposits it in a super-safe vault. You then make payments from this account via credit card or PC, and the gold -- without ever leaving the vault -- is credited to the recipient's account. If the recipient prefers dollars, the gold is electronically converted by exchanges, which now do the same with the world's other currencies.

The first attempt to turn this theory into reality is called e-gold, and so far, so good. The number of e-gold accounts rose from 3,000 in mid-1999 to 130,000 by the end of 2000. The amount of e-gold in circulation (which by definition is identical to the amount of gold locked away in its vaults), has grown from 5,000 ounces in 1999 to 43,000 ounces. "We finally hit our millionth transaction in November," says e-gold founder Douglas Jackson, "and we hit a million and a half in December." All, notes Jackson, with a marketing budget of zero.

Summary: It is evident after you add up all the "Social Spending" programs as outlined in the Outlays chart that the totals are remarkable similar to the income derived from Social Security taxes, Medicare taxes, unemployment taxes, other retirement taxes, etc., and personal income taxes. Except that The Fed takes approximately 19% to line their own pockets before the final Outlays to fund Social Welfare programs occur. It is no wonder why the Legislative, Judicial and Executive branches can fund multi-million dollar private retirement plans for themselves and immediate relatives. It certainly does pay the Ruling Elite to be at the top of the pyramid in a ponzi scheme such as Social Security while at the same time isolating themselves from the requirements to be part of that federal insurance contributions act people recognize as FICA on their pay stubs.

The token amount of 18 to 20% retrieved for Constitutional functions as shown in the blue and green bar graphs in the Income and Outlay charts shows that there is still a Constitutional Republic at work. It is just being choked to death by the voluntary Socialism/Communism that our citizens so eagerly line up to participate in.
