UPDATES:
* Holidays
The holidays are once again upon us. Therefore The Tax Freedom 101 Report will be halted for the next few weeks until after the beginning of the New Year. Like summer where people are preoccupied with vacations, and other outings associated with the warm weather, so is it around the holidays that people need to just kick back and relax. Things such as lifting up liberty, focusing on freedom, and protecting rights tends to be placed on the proverbial back burner for a time since nearly everyone seems to be just to busy being swayed by corporate commercialism, and year end holiday hysteria. We here at Tax Freedom 101 will not forget that tyranny never rests, nor schedules a holiday. We will be preparing for the yearly rush of frantic non-taxpayers caught up in patriot silver-bullet bargains who are now being hounded by our favorite "agency", and the usual rush of regular Taxpayers who find themselves just a wee bit short for the tax man, or those current educated Taxpayers who may just "know-to-much" for their own good, have caught the "liberty bug", and are now experiencing the full blown contagion and the usual symptoms and side effects associated with such when it comes to making out returns in good conscience.

We will however be keeping the Tax Freedom 101 Member Discussion Forum humming just in case something of importance comes up. Anyone may participate in the forum. For timely updates and other issues concerning the Constitutional Revival Movement during this brief down time of The Tax Freedom 101 Report please visit: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TAXFREEDOM101 for a description of this forum's intent.

Now please enjoy the rest of this report. Oh and have a Happy Thanksgiving, and don't forget to give thanks.

NEWS:
* J.A.I.L. for Judges - A Beautiful Thought
The Judicial Accountability Initiative Law [J.A.I.L.] for Judges interview done by "The Agitator" of The Agitator Hour as heard on The Other Radio Network gives the new Tax Freedom 101 student additional insight into the Reality 101 of judicial corruption on a much larger scale. Our experience in the Constitutional Revival Movement with respect to lawful taxation is one of grave importance when the third branch of government is involved. Today we have the judiciary doing everything in their power to suppress the written law. This can range from suppressing evidence, judges practicing law from the bench, and also consistently ruling against the law. In the rare instances when favorable decisions are rendered in the court when taxes are involved the judges will rarely provide the decisions for their case-law minions in various law review publications. To cite a case one would need to know the specific docket number and location of the court in which the case was decided to obtain a transcript.

J.A.I.L. (Judicial Accountability Initiative Law) is a proposed amendment to the California Constitution as a check against judicial misconduct and abuse of power. The initiative creates three statewide Special Grand Juries in California for the sole purpose of investigating complaints against judges. The Special Grand Juries will have the power to sanction judges by levying fines and forfeitures against them; and for third-time offenses, removal from the bench. The Special Grand Juries will also have the power to indict judges and subject them to criminal proceedings before special trial juries who may sentence as well as convict the offending judge. Our goal is to first take California by storm, then the other states by fall-out. What begins in California sweeps the nation. By pressure of the other states, we shall create and call for federal judicial accountability.

* Lights Out for NITE?
Because of employer ignorance we stole that money fair and square the first time - we issued you the refunds by "mistake", and now we will see you in court for tax-evasion, along with your clients, says the IRS in not so many words.

The Save-A-Patriot Fellowship predicted such a scenario years ago, and politely warned those who were receiving refunds by amended returns and then cashing those same exorbitant checks that they could find themselves on the other end of a lawsuit brought forth by the government. This is exactly what has happened. We certainly hope those named in the suit can weather the storm that will be awaiting them in federal court.

The proprietor of the National Institute for Taxation Education, Thurston Bell of Hanover, Pa. who has slandered the Save-A-Patriot Fellowship on numerous occasions is named in the lawsuit being brought forth by the Department of Justice, along with David Bosset of Spring Hill, Fla.; and Harold E. Hearn of Atlanta. The one thing they all have in common? They filed amended tax returns and received refund checks, and now they and perhaps their clients will be charged with tax-evasion.

Any clients of the afore mentioned tax advisors wishing to jump ship and swim to the life rafts of the Save-A-Patriot Fellowship before suits are filed against them are more than welcome. Those same clients may even qualify for financial assistance under the Victory Express if they meet the terms as expressed and outlined within the fellowship's main program agreement.
David Cay Johnston of The New York Times, and infamous IRS mouthpiece relays the story. What can we say about the timing of this story? Considering the time table of the DOJ expect more on this story to be run just prior to April 15th in order to scare the wits out of ordinary Taxpayers.

* The "PATRIOT" Bill
America was already a defacto police state prior to this bill, now thanks to a bloated and lazy federal government with surveillance agencies galore, and push over representatives we now have a de jure' police state. A tragedy like September 11th is just what a tyranny needs to further its aims. Just scribble out the 4th Amendment, and scrawl the word VOID over the current language contained therein. Osama has done more damage to this country than anyone can imagine.

Excerpts from article "Police State":

"...Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, one of only three Republican lawmakers to buck the House leadership and the Bush administration to vote against this legislation, is outraged not only by what is contained in the antiterrorism bill but also by the effort to stigmatize opponents. Paul tells Insight, "The insult is to call this a 'patriot bill' and suggest I'm not patriotic because I insisted upon finding out what is in it and voting no. I thought it was undermining the Constitution, so I didn't vote for it — and therefore I'm somehow not a patriot. That's insulting."

"..."I like to refer to this legislation," continues Strossen, "as the 'so-called antiterrorism law,' because on its face the provisions are written to deal with any crime, and the definition of terrorism under the new law is so severely broad that it applies far beyond what most people think of as terrorism."

* Will 42 Soon be 43?
We have been following the Tennessee "tax revolt" since its inception. Will Tennessee be the 43rd state in the Union to join 42 others who have instituted a State Income Tax? Perhaps, but not if Tennesseans have anything to say about it. The ironic thing about the protest, albeit honorable, is that if the citizens of Tennessee actually understood the written law, and the enforcement agencies were to uphold the law with respect to internal taxation then the citizens of Tennessee would have nothing to worry about if a state income tax was brought forth. Why not? Read our related article below titled, "What About State Income Taxes?" for the answer.

* The Great Thanksgiving Hoax
by Richard J. Marbury

brownesc2.JPG (56688 bytes)Each year at this time school children all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story, and newspapers, radio, TV, and magazines devote vast amounts of time and space to it. It is all very colorful and fascinating. It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like what really happened. It is a fairy tale, a whitewashed and sanitized collection of half-truths which divert attention away from Thanksgiving's real meaning.

The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them.

The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or less happily ever after, each year repeating the first Thanksgiving. Other early colonies also have hard times at first, but they soon prosper and adopt the annual tradition of giving thanks for this prosperous new land called America.

The problem with this official story is that the harvest of 1621 was not bountiful, nor were the colonists hardworking or tenacious. 1621 was a famine year and many of the colonists were lazy thieves. In his `History of Plymouth Plantation,' the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years, because they refused to work in the fields. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with "corruption," and with "confusion and discontent." The crops were small because "much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable."

In the harvest feasts of 1621 and 1622, "all had their hungry bellies filled," but only briefly. The prevailing condition during those years was not the abundance the official story claims, it was famine and death. The first "Thanksgiving" was not so much a celebration as it was the last meal of condemned men.

But in subsequent years something changes. The harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly, "instead of famine now God gave them plenty," Bradford wrote, "and the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God." Thereafter, he wrote, "any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day." In fact, in 1624, so much food was produced that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn. What happened?

After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, "they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop." They began to question their form of economic organization. This had required that "all profits & benefits that are got by trade,working, fishing, or any other means" were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, "all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock." A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed.

This "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that "young men that are most able and fit for labor and service" complained about being forced to "spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children." Also, "the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak." So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of famines.

Many early groups of colonists set up socialist states, all with the same terrible results. At Jamestown, established in 1607, out of every shipload of settlers that arrived, less than half would survive their first twelve months in America. Most of the work was being done by only one-fifth of the men, the other four-fifths choosing to be parasites. In the winter of 1609-10, called "The Starving Time," the population fell from five-hundred to sixty.

Then the Jamestown colony was converted to a free market, and the results were every bit as dramatic as those at Plymouth. In 1614, Colony Secretary Ralph Hamor wrote that after the switch there was "plenty of food, which every man by his own industry may easily and doth procure." He said that when the socialist system had prevailed, "we reaped not so much corn from the labors of thirty men as three men have done for themselves now."

Before these free markets were established, the colonists had nothing for which to be thankful. They were in the same situation as Ethiopians are today, and for the same reasons. But after free markets were established, the resulting abundance was so dramatic that the annual Thanksgiving celebrations became common throughout the colonies, and in 1863, Thanksgiving became a national holiday.

Thus the real reason for Thanksgiving, deleted from the official story, is: Socialism does not work; the one and only source of abundance is free markets, and we thank God we live in a country where we can have them.

Tax Freedom 101 Modest Suggestion: Maybe this year, just prior to the blessing and the dinner you should read before the entire family, "The Great Thanksgiving Hoax" as written by the historian Richard J. Marbury. We can all soon forget our history, unless it is repeated verbally and accurately to others. And if we fail to share our nations rich heritage and history correctly, we will be consigned to repeating the parts less favorable.

"Some people think the Federal Reserve Banks are U.S. government institutions. They are not ... they are private credit monopolies which prey
upon the people of the U.S. for the benefit of themselves and their foreign and domestic swindlers, and rich and predatory money lenders. The sack of the United States by the Fed is the greatest crime in history. Every effort has been made by the Fed to conceal its powers, but the truth is the Fed has usurped the government. It controls everything here and it controls all our foreign relations. It makes and breaks governments at will." -- Congressman Charles McFadden, Chairman, House Banking and Currency Committee, June 10, 1932
