In this issue:

There are a couple of things we need to let you know about.

First, we recently received an e-mail from someone on the mailing list regarding the passport application. I’d just like to recap what we have found out about it. Yes, there does appear to be a requirement for a SSN. There does appear to be a penalty of $500 for not supplying the number.

Second, we do know that the passport application is from a different department than the statute for the requirement and the penalty.

Third, we have gotten many, many confirmations from people who have gotten passports without a SSN and have not gotten penalized. We have not received a notification from a single person who has been fined for not supplying a SSN on a passport application.

These facts lead us to believe that if you need a government issued, photo ID without a SSN, the passport is the way to go. Simply fill out the application, leave the SSN blank.

We did an article some time ago about ALFII. This is a bank-like service that allows you to prepay for money orders. This service is very similar to having checking account. They do not require a SSN.

We have recently been notified that they are now requiring some sort of ID although not an SSN. You can fax them a copy of a drivers license and an affidavit stating you have no tax ID number.

From what we understand this has to do with somebody using the service for money laundering.

We don’t have a whole lot of details on this and there is no mention of it on their website. If anyone has any more details, we would be happy to pass them on to the list.

Caught something interesting on the Discovery Channel (or one of there sister stations) the other night. They had a couple of shows on the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Mint. They did announce quite a bit of truth. They did say how the U.S. Currency is not backed by anything other than the full faith and credit of the U.S. They did say how the Federal Reserve is in control of the money supply. They did mention how the currency is sold for about four cents per note regardless of the denomination.

However, they failed to connect the dots. They did not say that the Federal Reserve is not part of the U.S. government. They may have implied it but they did not make a point about of it. They made no mention of the fact that all money is borrowed into existence.

To put it simply, they gave us enough information that it could possibly make somebody angry if they had the sense to make the connections or come up with their own questions themselves.

The problem appears to be that this has been going on so long that nobody knows any different. Everyone has been brainwashed to believe that the Federal Reserve is the answer to a problem rather than a problem itself. To me, that’s a problem.

The answer to this problem is education. It not government approved, public education either, which in itself is another problem.

than by violent and sudden usurpations." -- James Madison
