3) SOCIAL SECURITY FORM SSA-521 "WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATION"

This form is fast entering the pantheon of modern patriot mythology.
First of all, here's a simple truism: citizens do not use tax forms. Tax
forms are for aliens. Citizens use affidavits and other sworn
statements. Nor is any form necessary to "quit" Social Security or to
stop paying social security employment tax.

Social Security is voluntary (i.e., participatory, consensual, elective)
for citizens living and working within the Union States. All that is
necessary is to STOP participating. It's that simple, although sometimes
the simple escapes us. Since Social Security is voluntary, the citizen
can participate one quarter, not the next, participate the following
quarter, and so forth. Enough credits must be built up towards so many
quarters vested towards the receipt of benefits (which must be applied
for and are not sent automatically).

Form SSA-521 presents a giant, potential booby trap since the citizen
who uses is might open himself up to demands by the government to return
(pay back) all of the federal benefits he had ever received over his
entire life, going all the way back to the federally subsizided milk he
received in the public school cafeteria.

5) "RELINQUISH YOUR SSN?" -- I NEVER SAID THAT

A gentleman by the name of Daniel recently cc'd: me in a post sent to a
third party in which he "quoted" me as having said that "it is
impossible to relinquish our SSN's." Here was my reply (expanded
slightly):

Gordon Phillips replies: Daniel, I never made the statement which you
attribute to me. I would not do so as it is incorrect. If it has been
sent to a list of others, please forward the following to that same list
and correct the record. Thank you.

1. SSN's are the property of the Social Security Administration (SSA),
the world's largest wealth redistribution factory. They assign them to
applicants upon request, wherefor it is impossible to "relinquish our
SSN's." Applicants (those who desire to be enumerated) make application
on SSA Form SS-5 "Application For Social Security Account Number". If
you don't want a number, don't apply.

2. SSN's are assigned by the SSA to nonresident aliens (i.e. without
application) upon their lawful admission into the U.S. See 42 USC at
405(c)(2)(B)(i), paragraph (I). Citizens must make application as per
paragraph (II). Also, see 26 CFR at 301.6109-1 which explains that only
FOREIGNERS are required to provide a taxpayer identification number (SSN
or EIN) upon request.

3. There is no requirement for a citizen or resident alien to whom an
SSN has been assigned to use that number for any purpose whatsoever,
including employment.

4. The SS-5 application for the SSN can be revoked (if made voluntarily)
via Affidavit of Revocation and Rescission and the signature rescinded
therefrom. I did so in 1995.

5. The sun (in its final death throes) will expand into a red gas giant
long before the SSA will ever expunge the record of an applicant under
whose name and SSN credits have already begun being accumulated, however
SSA will expunge the application for the assignment of a SSN to a
newborn if the challenge is made timely after the birth.

6) GUN OWNERSHIP MANDATORY IN KENNESAW, GEORGIA

(Crime Rate Plummets - Why Doesn't The Media Visit Kennesaw?) ) --
received from Chuck Baldwin <http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/>. He
writes:

"The New American magazine reminds us that March 25th marked the 16th
anniversary of Kennesaw, Georgia's ordinance requiring heads of
households (with certain exceptions) to keep at least one firearm in
their homes. The city's population grew from around 5,000 in 1980 to
13,000 by 1996 (latest available estimate). Yet there have been only
three murders: two with knives (1984 and 1987) and one with a firearm
(1997). After the law went into effect in 1982, crime against persons
plummeted 74 percent compared to 1981, and fell another 45 percent in
1983 compared to 1982. And it has stayed impressively low. In addition
to nearly non-existent homicide (murders have averaged a mere 0.19 per
year), the annual number of armed robberies, residential burglaries,
commercial burglaries, and rapes have averaged, respectively, 1.69,
31.63, 19.75, and 2.00 through 1998. With all the attention that has
been heaped upon the lawful possession of firearms lately, you would
think that a city that requires gun ownership would be the center of a
media feeding frenzy. It isn't. The fact is I can't remember a major
media outlet even mentioning Kennesaw. Can you? The reason is obvious.
Kennesaw proves that the presence of firearms actually improves safety
and security. This is not the message that the media want us to hear.
They want us to believe that guns are evil and are the cause of
violence. The facts tell a different story. What is even more
interesting about Kennesaw is that the city's crime rate decreased with
the simple knowledge that the entire community was armed. The bad guys
didn't force the residents to prove it. Just knowing that residents were
armed prompted them to move on to easier targets. Most criminals don't
have a death wish. There have been two occasions in my own family when
the presence of a handgun averted potential disaster. In both instances
the gun was never aimed at a person and no shot was fired."

7) WWW.FREEREPUBLIC.COM BLACKLISTS INFORM AMERICA!

On February 10th, I, Gordon Phillips, posted the attached text file
titled "TAX BASICS 101" on http://www.freerepublic.com, which presents
itself as a pro-Liberty, patriotic web site where real Americans can
post articles for each other. So I posted mine. And guess what happened?

It disappeared! Vanished! Poof! Including all replies! When I informed
the gentleman (via e-mail) who first brought the site to my attention of
the vanishing act, he replied:

"I do not understand this at all. I have never ever seen this happen on
FREE REPUBLIC. Even the replies to your post are gone! It's like they
never existed. The type of information on your post needs to be on Free
Republic for the public to learn about. I'll rally the troops."

It's amazing, isn't it, how fast the fearful can run when the tax
educator cometh. I find this highly amusing. But I'm not in the least
surprised. Perhaps you would all like to go there and inquire as to why
the site's host will not even answer my e-mail inquiries as to what
happened.
