NEWS:
- Politically Incorrect Motivated Audits Shown

Judicial Watch has waited some time for their FOIA [Freedom Of Information Act] requests to be honored regarding their suit alleging that they were targeted for politically motivated audits at the request of key democrats, and as carried out and conducted by the IRS. The stonewalling was obviously for a reason. Now that a new el-presidente' has assumed office the incriminating damage these documents reveal are far less politically sensitive than if they had been turned over during the Clinton years - that is except for Charles Rossotti, the Clinton appointed and still current IRS Commissioner.

- Another World Economy Shudder Coming

The fear and fiat contagion experienced in Argentina is spreading to other selected countries of Latin America. See the related story below -
Meltdown in Argentina spreads to its neighbors. Don't worry, our Treasury secretary Paul O'Neill has gone to placate the staggering countries.

We made mention of the Argentina financial and political unrest back in the January 8th edition of The Tax Freedom 101 Report [One Reason Why the World Hates America]. The related article in that issue "What Really Killed Argentina" by Hugo Salinas Price nails the underlying reason[s] for the fiscal irresponsibility showing itself in these banana republics. Here are some selected excerpts from the Price article:

"Argentina’s fate was determined by the deliberations of John Maynard Keynes and Harry Dexter White, when they drew up the Bretton Woods Agreement as World War II was coming to an end. There, they created what France’s General De Gaulle later called “an exorbitant privilege”: the right, pertaining to the victorious U.S.A., to have its dollars considered as equivalent to gold in the reserves of Central Banks the world over."

      and...

"This system of dollar reserves, is a massive system of world-tribute payable to the U.S. It is unjust and implies the impoverishment of the world for the benefit of the U.S. The impoverishment does not produce its results evenly. Some countries go belly-up before others. Argentina is the nation presently going under."

- Citizens Practicing Socialism: The Triumph of Big Government

Why does government grow? Despite all the rhetoric from representatives for smaller government it still grows, and grows. If you are a student of
The Tax Freedom 101 Home-Study Program you can answer this question simply of why government continues to grow. If you need the answer just read the title of this news story above.

The National Taxpayers Union (NTU) is lobbying Congress to find a another way in which the government collects tax revenue. The question is whether the 'tax revenue' being collected is required to be paid by citizens in the first place. Would another mechanism of collection really change the situation and 'Triumph of Big Government'?

Macy's executive Beardsley Ruml who is also mentioned in the referenced news story below is credited for pay-as-you-go tax withholding - taking the concept from deferred or installment payments from customers on credit. Ruml was also the Chairman of the New York branch of The Federal Reserve. Connecting any dots?

- Democracy: The Antithesis of Liberty

The following article comes from a past issue of The Liberty Tree. It was mailed to all members of the Save-A-Patriot Fellowship as part of the
members assistance program. Reprinted with permission.

THE LIBERTY TREE
Vol. 4 Number 1 - January 2002
Democracy: The Antithesis of Liberty
An editorial by Jim Kerr, Staff Paralegal - SAPF Paralegal Department

In my line of work, frequently having occasion to go into the constitutions of different states, I have come to learn that not all constitutions are created equal. For instance, I have noted that the Massachusetts constitution refers to its citizens as "subjects." This surprised me, since Massachusetts, once the cradle of liberty in this country, effectively resisted the tyranny of King George III; once loose of his royal yoke, they were no longer his subjects, becoming sovereign citizens vested with the full rights given to us by the Creator; and King George was no longer our sovereign. Other than this, however, the Massachusetts constitution is a pretty good one.

However,
the lamest U.S. [possession] constitution I have seen, is that of Puerto Rico. The very first sentence of the preamble states, "We, the people of Puerto Rico, in order to organize ourselves politically on a fully democratic basis…." It also states, "The democratic system is fundamental to the life of the Puerto Rican community; * * * We understand that the democratic system of government is one in which the will of the people is the source of public power…." Then, in Article I Sec. 2, it states the exact opposite: "The government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall be republican in form…." Moreover, in Article VII Sec. 3, it states, "Section 3. No amendment to this Constitution shall alter the republican form of government established by it or abolish its bill of rights." [All emphases mine] This tells me that the men who penned this constitution were either very ignorant, or they had a severe case of cognitive dissonance ("doublethink"). While it is perhaps (arguably) excusable for ordinary citizens to be oblivious of the difference between a constitutional republic and a democracy (due to the dumbing-down of our citizens by our government schools and the conditioning of the controlled mass media), that politicians, who graduated from law school and are highly paid to know about such things, could write such an inferior and contradictory constitution, is truly mind-boggling. In this article, we will first define our terms; show two examples that demonstrate the vile nature of a democracy; and then demonstrate how the democratic process, in combination with the deluding influence of the mass media results in tyranny of the most insidious variety.

What is a democracy?

What is a democracy? Back in November 30, 1928, the War Department issued a 156 page book defining "democracy" thusly:

Democracy: A government of the masses; authority derived through mass meeting or any other form of direct expression; results in mobocracy. Attitude towards property is communistic, negating property rights. Attitude towards law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it be based upon deliberation or government by passion, prejudice and impulse without restraint or regard to consequences. Results in demagogism, license, agitation, discontent, anarchy.
Indeed, a Democracy, means a country governed by an unlimited majority rule. A Democracy is a form of government in which the majority have the right to vote on anything and to pass any law it sees fit, the sole standard of legality being a majority vote.

A Democracy is incompatible with a constitution because the principle there is that the sole standard of right or wrong is determined by a counting of noses; a majority rule. A good example of that system is the democratic city-states of Greece where the majority had the right to vote a death sentence for a man if they disapproved of his ideas, such as in the case of Socrates. Socrates was condemned to death because a majority of the citizens found that his ideas were subversive to Athens. While he declared his fellow citizens were wrong in their decision, being a true democrat, he believed they had the right to put him to death by popular vote.

Conversely, a constitutional republic is predicated on the principle that citizens have rights which come from the Creator. People have the right to life, liberty, and to own property. These rights cannot be infringed upon by persons individually (as with a monarch, for example), or collectively (by popular vote). Moreover, the only
legitimate function of a limited government is to protect the people's rights to life, liberty and property: nothing more, nothing less.

Now let us define what rights are. Neither the government nor any group or organization has any rights. Rights are a concept that pertains only to individuals. The most fundamental right is the right of a man to his own life. All other rights are merely corollary to or derivative of this right. A right is a religious/moral concept within a social context. It pertains to what is morally correct for men to do in relation to other men. Once you have established that a man is the owner of his own life, that he has a right to live, that he can live his life as he pleases (so long as he does not violate the rights of other men), and does not belong to anyone else, you have the base from which all other rights are derived. If a man has a right to his own life, then he has a right to take all those actions which are necessary: necessary by his nature as a man, as a rational being, to sustain and protect his own life.

Next let us distinguish a right from a privilege. A right is equally applicable to all individuals - to all human beings. A certain action is a right if it can be shown that it is required by a man's nature as he exists. If so, then it is equally applicable to all other men. Therefore, in determining what is or is not properly a right, it is then necessary to establish that said right apply equally to all men. If it does not, then it is not a right, but merely a privilege. For example, when people claim to have a right to collect government benefits such as welfare, they are claiming they have the right to free food, and housing at the expense of other men. This is not a right, because to provide unearned property for the one group requires the extraction of slave labor from another group; and legitimizing this plunder by legalizing it does not change the fact that the rights of some men are being violated under the guise of philanthropy-mandatory, false philanthropy. That is contrary to the concept of rights. Nothing which infringes some man's rights for the benefits of others, can morally or logically be a right. A right has to apply equally to all.

Let us now examine how the controlled mass media exacerbates the evils of democracy in our age. I think most of our members will agree that the majority of voting Americans have the mindset of lemmings. They will also probably agree that the controlled media and Hollywood have been largely successful in molding the minds of these lemmings to think politically correct thoughts. Moreover, they have even succeeded in instilling fear of expressing politically incorrect thoughts. Imagine, if you have a school age child, that his teacher told him to write a report on democracy. What would his teacher have to say if he wrote a report expressing views consistent with this article? And what would you think the Principal would have to say if the teacher praised your child for that report? Remember, this is an age where kids can be kicked out of school for wearing t-shirts showing a man and a woman holding hands, and stating, "Straight Pride! "

Indeed, questioning democracy is not a thing that a prudent person does lightly. Our politically correct dogma says that if we didn't have democracy, we wouldn't be free. In fact, the belief in the efficacy of democracy as the guarantor of wealth and liberty has become a religion, of sorts, in our hemisphere; and our politicians and preachers alike fear to question it. The influence of our controlled media has become overwhelming in the last century with the introduction of radio, motion pictures and television. Those who control the mass media can and do manipulate the beliefs, opinions and emotions of the public on every issue that is important to the globalist regime. As such, what may appear to be democracy -unlimited rule by popular vote - is nothing other than oligarchy. [Or, at least the appearance of such. There is nothing in the constitution that authorizes democracy, oligarchy, socialism or anything other than a limited republic. Any departure from this is the result of seditious individuals and cannot be legitimized by a "War Powers Act," the Illuminati, the Masons or anything else.]

While the Liberty Tree is not a religious publication, it is frequently helpful to look in the Bible, a history book of great antiquity, for that is where the concept for liberty and how to attain it, was first set forth. Moreover, "Those who forget the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them." (Santayana,
The Life of Reason). The Bible, a collection of very political books, treats these issues quite exhaustively. I would say that democracy is a "delusion". And if you look up in a good concordance the definitions of the terms "whore", "harlot" and "drunk" in the context used in the context of Revelations 17:1-2, it would seem that even the Bible condemns democracy.
Revelations 17:1-2 - And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come higher; I will shew unto thee judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
If you are going to live free, you are going to have to think like a freeman. It is essential that we resist the brainwashing of the media, and to educate ourselves as to what liberty and all its attributes are; and to understand that any government that is not limited, even democracy, is subversive to those ends. Or, to put it another way, "Dare to Think for Yourself !"

Democracy in Action

The trial of Socrates - The trial of Socrates took place in 399 BC when he was nearly 70. The charges were that he refused to recognize the official gods of the state, that he introduced new gods and that he corrupted the young. In 404, five years before the trial, a 27-year war between Athens and Sparta had ended in the defeat of Athens. The Athenian democracy was overthrown and replaced by a group of men, subsequently known as the Thirty Tyrants, installed by Sparta. In the course of earning their name, the Tyrants killed so many citizens that they lasted for only a year, though it was not until 401 that democracy was fully reinstituted. The power of the democrats was still tenuous in 399. The state alone determined what idols were acceptable; it had its own procedures for the official recognition of gods; and anyone who ignored them was in effect challenging the legitimacy of the democratic state. This is what Socrates was up against when he faced the 500 Athenian citizens who were to judge him.

Plato was at the trial. The Apology of Socrates, which he wrote a few years afterwards, relates the course of the trial. It appears that Socrates' arguments persuaded few. Furthermore, his judges were already prejudiced against him by the slanders of Aristophanes. Socrates was found guilty.

During the sentencing phase of the trial, it appears that he succeeded in annoying the jurors when he said that he thought he was doing the Athenians "the greatest possible service" in showing them the errors of their ways. This was at a stage of the proceedings when he was required to argue for a suitable penalty, to counter the prosecution's proposal that he be put to death. He stated that what he actually deserved for doing the Athenians such a service, was not a punishment but a reward. He suggests free meals for life at the expense of the state. Spoken like a democrat! Such an honor was usually reserved for victors at the Olympic games and suchlike; he has earned it even more than they have, he said, because "these people give you the semblance of success, but I give you the reality." He ended this part of the speech by suggesting a fine instead, at the instigation of Plato and other friends who offered to pay it for him.

But the Athenians, apparently, had evidently lost their patience. They voted for the death penalty by a larger majority than that by which they had found him guilty. This means that some of them, having previously found him innocent, were so offended by his cheek that they either changed their minds or else decided to kill of him anyway. So, while Socrates did not receive free meals for life, he did receive a sufficient serving of hemlock, at state expense. How like a Democracy.

"Your mind has been made up for you by people you don't know, the thought machines control the scene so well, it doesn't show; how can I contain this anguish and this pain, knowing that your eyes are blinded by the lies; have your eyes been blinded by the lies…" - Excerpt from Carl Klang's song, Blinded By the Lies

Democracy in Brazil -
Homeschooling is frequently deemed as dangerous to authoritarian governments (such as democracies), because children are often taught about rights, liberty and a belief in limited government; and people knowledgeable of such things usually do not vote like good lemmings. Therefore, it is important for the citizens to receive politically correct government educations so that they think like socialists and vote correctly.

My second example demonstrating the evils of democracy is a quote of Roberto Goidanich, Head of the Human Rights and Social Affairs Section of the Brazilian Embassy, October, 2001. It speaks for itself:

"[T]o allow for the inclusion of homeschooling as a legally permitted option would depend on the expression of the democratic will of Brazilian families through the mechanisms of democracy. The way in which Brazilian democracy works is quite similar, in many respects, to the way in which other Western democracies work."
