Obama Eligibility

This subject is driving me crazy. This needs to be settled and I can't see it going away, ever. It needs to be settled. There are a nember of lawsuits going and and more being added as time goes by:

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=87270

There are so many questions surrounding the eligibility of Barack Obama there has to be more than a grain of truth out of them all. Any of the stipulations could potentially confirm that he is ineligible to be President. There is his birth record. He contends he was born in Hawaii. However, there are no hospital records to be found there. It is contended that he was actually born in Kenya. His mother wanted to go back to Hawaii and have the baby there. The airline would not allow her to fly in the late stage of preganancy. After the birth she flew to Hawaii and registered the birth there. This is commonplace and would explain the lack of hospital records and the "Certification of Live Birth" displayed on Obama's website. We'll call this the "birth record issue."

When he was a child he was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and renamed "Barry" and moved to Indonesia. He attended school there when it was illegal for non-Indonesian citizens to attend school. Indonesia does not allow dual-citizenship and the U.S. does not allow dual-citizenship with countires that do not reciprocate. We'll call this "the Indonesia Issue"

In the early 80s he traveled to Pakistan. At the time it was illegal for U.S. citizens to travel to Pakistan. He did this on an Indonesian passport. We'll call the "The Pakistan Issue."

Obama attended Occidental College and there are suits pending to look up those records. It is contended that he may be registered as a foreign student and there is the possibility he may have received foreign student aid. We'll call this the "Occidental issue."

Regarding the birth record issue: Some contend that it is not relevant if his birth occurred in Kenya since the birth was registered in Hawaii as is the custom. This was normally done for citizens that happen to have a baby while outside the country. This is probably a good thing for U.S. citizens if both parents are, in fact citizens. In this case both were not citizens. His father was Kenyan and his mother, although a citizen was a minor at the time. If in fact he was born in kenya, as it appears he is, his father would confer British citizenship upon him. Therefore it does make a difference where he was actually born.

Regarding the Indonesian Issue: I recently got into an argument with an associate about this issue. His argument was that since he was underage at the time he moved to and from Indonesia then it doesn't count. he was too young to make the decision to become an Indonesian citizen. He could not have possibly understood what it meant to be one or the other.

You may want to check out this link:
http://travel.state.gov/law/citizenship/citizenship_778.html

He made the argument that he would not lose U.S. citizenship because of the actions of a parent. he figures (possibly correctly) that in a court of law, this would not seem to be in the child's best interest. Well, that may be an American point of view, but let's look at it from the Soetoro's family's point of view. they were in Indonesia, I assume his father was Muslim. It would certainly be in their best interest to make "Barry" a citizen, renounce U.S. citizenship so he could attend Muslim school.

Regarding the Pakistan Issue: There are three options as to what happened here. Either, he had renounced citizenship because of the the Indonesia Issue and he was no longer a citizen or he had retained citizenship and traveled there illegally, or he became naturalized on his return from Indonesia and traveled there illegally. Any of these possible scenarios is bad news for Barack or Barry.

If he was no longer a citizen and he went to Pakistan, then he is not qualified to be President. If he retained citizenship or became naturalized then he went there illegally and we have a lawbreaker as President. Well, that wouldn't be the first time. However, an acknowledgment may be in order at the very least.

Let's pile onto these issues the fact that Barry has spent an estimated $800,000 in lawyer's fees to keep all these records locked up and sealed. Why would anyone go through so much effort and expense to keep something a secret if the records would prove that he is eligible?

I have another question; why are the courts not dealing with this? They seem to be looking for any excuse not to take these cases. Most cases have been dismissed because of lack of standing.

The latest case I have heard about is very interesting. It is brought by somebody in the military reserves. he wants to know if Obama is elegible to be President because, should he be called, should he follow Obama's orders. If Obama does not prove he is elegible, then his orders should not be followed. Tell me this case has no standing!

NoSSN Radio

The Internet Radio Station that I am helping to set up has been put on hold for a couple of months due to health issues. However, I received a message in my inbox from somebody asking if anyone wants to host their own radio show. I responded and i was told to fill out an application and e-mail it in. I did and the very next day I received a reply. It was accepted. My Radio Show, "Under the Radar" will be on the Tunes Radio Network every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30pm. I'm trying to get everything together so we can go on this week.

I'm excited to be going "on the air" soon. I shall keep the list posted.

This will not be the only station carrying "Under the Radar". The original station will be carrying it as soon as it starts up, possibly late March or April.

You may e-mail questions for the show to Radio@NoSSN.com

Just a quick note on the quizzes. It would seem many people are very well versed on The Fed. The scores have been much higher than I anticipated. Maybe I should have made the questions more difficult.

Subject: It isn't necessarily better for Congress to pass fewer bills

The House passed seven bills and the Senate six in their first month of work. Those are relatively small numbers. You'd think we'd be happy about that. But is it really better to have fewer bills when they include . . .

A 680-page "stimulus" bill (or Scam Bill) with 7 Titles (i.e., different subjects), and a cost per family of over $4,300.
A 1,248-page Public Land Management Act that includes 15 Titles covering everything from forest management to oceans to water rights disputes to . . . paralysis research!
Whenever we point out something like this we get email asking, "What do you have against paralysis research?" But it's more important to ask . . .

What's paralysis research doing in a "land" bill?
Doesn't it deserve a debate on its own merits with its own up-and-down vote?
Shouldn't the same be true of all the items in this bill?
When Senators passed the "land" bill they made a lot of snap decisions that profoundly affect dozens of states and communities. For instance, they . . .

parceled out federal land to communities
expanded wilderness areas,
and authorized water-supply studies.
Each provision will impact the lives of many people, but Senators . . .

know little about these issues, especially outside their own states
and they did not read the bill, so they can't really be certain what the bill actually does
If Congress passes laws they haven't read and don't understand, how is that better than a King issuing decrees? How are the people better represented?

DownsizeDC.org has two cures for the problem of inadequate representation: the One subject At A Time Act (OSTA) and the Read the Bills Act (RTBA). Together, these bills would:

prevent unrelated topics from being passed as one bill
ensure that each member of Congress who votes for a bill has actually read it
force Congress to prioritize: omnibus bills running hundreds of pages would no longer be an option
force each proposal to be debated on its own merits
prevent unpopular measures from sneaking into bills at the last minute
save money by discouraging pork-barrel spending
Please use our quick and easy Educate the Powerful System to tell your representatives that . . .

You know they didn't read, and therefore couldn't really understand, the 680-page "stimulus" bill and the 1,248 "land" bill. Tell them to introduce and pass DownsizeDC.org's "Read the Bills Act."
Both the "stimulus" bill and the "land" bill were stuffed with many unrelated proposals, all of which deserved to be debated and voted up or down as individual proposals that needed to sink or swim on their own merits. Ask your representatives to introduce and pass the "One Subject at a Time Act."
Finally, please consider joining the Read the Bills Act Coalition. Membership will give your blog or website a link on our blog, and a promotion on the Downsizer-Dispatch reaching 24,000+ subscribers. It will also help spread the word about Downsize DC, the "Read the Bills Act," and the "One Subject at a Time Act." Instructions for joining are here.
