Welcome!

It seems that last week, the NoSSN Newsletter was picked up and distributed in another mailing list. As a result we saw a surge in the number of subscribers. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new members.

I welcome the redistribution of the NoSSN Newsletter. I have not put this wording in a newsletter before but:

Permission is hereby granted to redistribute this newsletter provided the terms below are followed. (See the terms at the end of the newsletter)

Aaron Russo’s New Film
America – from freedom to fascism

If you have not seen the trailer for this new movie yet, I highly suggest you take a look.

http://www.freedomtofascism.com

From what I have read, this movie has had a number of prescreenings and it has been exceedingly well received. From viewing the trailer, I can certainly understand why. What Michael Moore has done for the liberal slant, Aaron Russo has done for the truth.

This film will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival and it is hoped will be picked up by a distributor so we can all see it this Summer.

I am keeping my eyes open for a screening date in my area so I can see it.

My question is, will it be picked up? Will it make the theaters?

If it gets picked up and is in the theaters this Summer, it should make an impact on many who have no idea what is going on.

If it does not get picked up by a distributor or in some way does not make the theaters, then we will simply have more ammunition in the already bulging vaults of the “here’s more proof” repository.

2006 promises to be a good year

The NoSSN Philosophy

I thought that since we have so many new members it might be a good time to get down to the basics, what the NoSSN site and list and all that goes with it is all about.

At the very root is the fact that there is no law requiring an American, U.S. Citizen to get, have or use a Social Security Number. There is no reason anyone needs to have a number, get a number or use a number for any reason.

If we take a look at 42 U.S.C. § 405(c)(2)(B)(i) we find that the Commissioner of Social Security is to take affirmative measures to assure that SSNs will be assined to:

(I) to aliens at the time of their lawful admission to the United States. . .;
(II) to any individual who is an applicant for or recipient of benefits under any program financed in whole or in part from Federal funds including any child on whose behalf such benefits are claimed by another person; and,
(III) to any other individual when it appears that he could have been but was not assigned an account number under the provisions of subclauses (I) or (II) . . .;
(IV) to or on behalf of children who are below school age at the request of their parents or guardians; and,
(V) to children of school age at the time of their first enrollment in school.

The only place most of us fall into is (II) and (IV).

Simply put, no one gets a number, according to the law, unless one applies for a number. Without some sort of application, you can’t get a number. If you don’t want a number and do not wish to participate on Socialist based, federal welfare entitlement programs, all you have to do, is not apply for a number. You don’t have to do something, you have to NOT do something. Don’t apply.

No one can make you apply. An application process by its very nature is a voluntary process. You cannot be forced, coerced or otherwise be made to apply.

If getting a number was indeed mandatory, there would be no application process. You would instead get a number tattooed across your butt when you sprang forth from the womb. I’m thankful that doesn’t happen.

This is something that that the SSA admits openly, the Social Security Act does not require that you get a number to live and work in the USA.

The philosophy in one line is: Yes, you can live without a SSN.

These facts do beg more questions and those are topics for additional NoSSN Newsletters.

Questions such as:

Doesn’t the hospital require newborns to get SSNs?
Short Answer: No

How do you claim a non-enumerated child on a tax return?
Short Answer: You don’t

How do you work without a SSN?
Short Answer: You can, you just have to do it right

How do you open a bank account without an SSN?
Short Answer: You don’t, there are alternatives

Can you get health insurance without an SSN?
Short Answer: Yes

There are many, many more questions. Feel free to ask.
