Tuftonboro man says he'd burn his house down to avoid inheritance tax

CONCORD, N.H. If nothing changes before he dies, Wolfgang Kaiser is ready to burn down his house to keep the state from taxing it as part of his estate.

''I would not hesitate from burning my home to the ground to keep the state from getting its hands on it,'' Kaiser told the House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday.

Kaiser said he and his wife moved to New Hampshire from Maine five years ago and built their retirement home with their own hands. Afterward, he found out the state has an 18 percent inheritance tax that would apply to them because they have no descendants.

''If we had known in 1995 what we know now, we would have sold our property in New Hampshire. We would not be living in New Hampshire. We would be living in a state friendlier to the elderly,'' he said.

Kaiser and others testified for Walpole Democrat Paul McGuirk's bill to repeal the tax. They said it is unfair because siblings and friends have to pay it, but children, grandchildren, stepchildren and spouses do not. The tax applies to the first $1 of inheritance.

Sen. Ned Gordon, R-Bristol, questioned the tax's constitutionality.

''This is a bill that doesn't tax wealth,'' he said. ''It taxes people's circumstances.''

Women who have no children are treated differently than those who do, he said.

''What we in essence have done is taxed her infertility,'' he said. ''We do not need an infertility tax in New Hampshire. We do not need to tax people who choose not to have children.''

A Call for Mandatory Pledge in Virginia Schools
- Bill Would Require Note From Clergy for Objectors

RICHMOND, Jan. 24 – Warren E. Barry, the state senator from Fairfax County who last year brought a moment of silence to 1.1 million Virginia schoolchildren, noticed something as he toured schools in Northern Virginia to see how students were greeting the new law.

What he saw appalled him. There was silence at the wrong moment: Some children weren't reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. So a new idea came to the former U.S. Marine, a veteran Republican lawmaker. Virginia should require students in every public school classroom to recite the pledge each morning.

"A lot of kids don't stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, and as a former Marine, I find that unconscionable," said Barry, 67, whose unit evacuated U.S. civilians to safety during the 1956 Sinai War. "These kids have no understanding of what the American flag symbolizes. If they refuse to salute the flag, I think they belong elsewhere."

Barry's school visits are about to touch off a new round in the nation's century-old struggle over the pledge and whether government can, or should, legislate patriotism.

The measure has the backing of Gov. James S. Gilmore III (R). "Really, it's more of a comment on the culture of the country than anything else – the fact that we would even be worried about it tells you that the culture of the country has changed," said Gilmore, now head of the Republican National Committee.

* 2A - NRA for real now?
While most of the time the NRA talks the talk they rarely can walk the walk. Well their National spokesman Charlton Heston has really said some amazing things that would lead one to believe that the NRA is "for real" now. We shall see. Maybe due to a pro second amendment President taking office the NRA feels it can speak out a bit more loudly, at least on non government controlled radio as Charlton Heston did on the GCN and Liberty Works Radio Network recently.

NRA President Charlton Heston Says UN Wants Our Guns, Makes Bombshell Comments on Ted Kennedy, Hillary and more.

Charlton Heston appeared on The Alex Jones Show, a nationally syndicated program on the Genesis Communications Network (GCN) and Liberty Works Radio Network, Thursday, January 18, 2001.

In all of the Charlton Heston speeches, appearances and writings that Alex Jones is aware of, Mr. Heston has generally defended the Second Amendment from the hunting and self-defense point-of-view. While all these points are certainly valid and historical, Mr. Heston, upon questioning from Jones, admitted that there is a push by world government via the United Nations to disarm the American people as well as going into the history of how mass murderers like Hitler and Stalin were big supporters of gun control. He drew the historical parallel between the slave nations and the United States in its government sponsored descent into disarmament of the citizenry.

Heston dropped another bombshell by saying that Senator Ted Kennedy's attack on John Ashcroft was shameful and that he had worked with JFK and Bobby Kennedy, but that Ted Kennedy was a disgrace. NRA President Heston also commented on Senator Hillary Clinton's move to the Senate and on the prospects of a Presidential bid by Hillary in 2004.

The statements we have eluded to are only the tip of the iceberg and are obviously newsworthy. They show a clear escalation by Mr. Heston in the "culture war:" The biggest complaint that Jones has been hearing for years from gun owners about the NRA and Heston is that they will not talk about the UN's gun-grabbing and the history of gun control, i.e. all the mass murder. 80 million gun owners are screaming for the NRA to get "hard-core," and that's exactly what Heston did during this interview.

INVINCIBLE IGNORANCE - vs - IGNORANCE COME BY HONESTY

As we enter this new millennium, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest thanks to the membership of Save-A-Patriot Fellowship for making possible the three most interesting and productive years of my life. I've learned quite a lot these last three years, thanks to the Fellows. Mr. Kotmair says that I might walk out of here with a diploma, one day.

I have found that our membership of truly exceptional people. While we have the usual diversity (e.g., race an religion), our membership is extraordinary for its preponderance of intellectually honest people.

If you think about it, intellectual honesty is becoming increasingly rare in our Nation today. This is unfortunate, for true Liberty cannot exist in the absence of intellectual honesty. When an intellectually honest people are armed with knowledge, they cease to be ignorant and liberty thrives in the land. Indeed, as Jefferson stated, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of peace, it expects what never was and never will be."

In the last three years, I have learned that there are two types of ignorance: (1) ignorance that people come by honestly; and, (2) ignorance of the invincible variety. The first type of ignorance can be cured, because intellectually honest people acquire knowledge and put it to good use. But curing the second type is hopeless. People who are not intellectually honest can perhaps acquire knowledge, but can never put it to good use. Such people are often called "boneheads." I have talked to many very intelligent people, like lawyers and accountants that are boneheads; they're everywhere. But I have found such people to be very rare amongst our membership. I would like to go into greater detail as to why I believe this is so.

Many of our members know from personal experience that those who are intellectually honest in politically incorrect ways, are persecuted. Yet it is said, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." (Mat. 5:6) As such, it is only natural that we seek the Truth, the wellspring of righteousness, for this is how spiritual growth becomes possible; and a life devoid of spiritual growth is meaningless.

Spiritual growth is a process spanning a person's entire life. I like the way Scott Peck treated it in his book, Along the Road Less Traveled, wherein he broke the process four stages. While Mr. Peck's paradigm was written with respect to religious growth, I believe that it can be a useful means of examining the process of political growth, i.e., becoming inured to the principles of liberty in thought, word and deed. And because liberty and sovereignty are intrinsically religious principles (they come out of the Bible), it is undeniably part and parcel of religious growth.

Mr. Peck states that the first stage is one everyone encounters, and usually passes through. This is the "antisocial" stage or hedonistic stage, where one is into "doing his own thing." However, in time, a person usually comes to realize that living life founded upon a philosophy of, "if it feels good, do it," results in misery. When a person in Stage 1 realizes that they are not happy, and want to change that, they are then ready for Stage 2.

In Stage 2, a person adopts a more disciplined lifestyle. This can sometimes involve getting married, joining the army or a cult, etc. In the context of political growth, for me, it was joining the Republican Party. As a registered Republican, people couldn't really talk to me, because I was not amenable to the Truth. I didn't want to hear about Eisenhower's crimes against the people of Europe during and after the war. And I was unamused when my staunchly Democrat father, about the time of Watergate, remarked, "Well, what do you think of your hero, Nixon, now?" I just didn't want to hear it.

However, that changed, in time. Double-think was just not my cup of tea. But I was among the more fortunate, because people frequently never get past Stage 2. It is not easy for people to admit they are in error, and start with a clean slate. This usually involves a commitment greater than one is willing to make. Take a typical attorney, for example. He spends eight long years acquiring a belief system predicated upon the principle that our courts make laws right from their bench; they call this "case law." Then he goes out and charges people $100 -$200+ per hour to propagate this myth. And then someone like me comes along, telling him that ... case law' is not law, and that, last I checked, according to Article I Sec. I Cl. I - you know, the very first part of the constitution after the preamble? - it says that only the legislature can make laws. It doesn't say anything about our courts making any laws." They don't want to hear that. They have invested too much effort and time building upon this lie - and it is a very profitable endeavor, at that. Intellectual honesty is just not an option for many of these people. It is not a price that they are willing to pay. Consequently, such people need to become adept at double-think.

It is my observation that our membership consists largely of those who have made it beyond this stage. While many people are sometimes of the rare and fortunate type that are innately amenable to accepting the Truth, regardless of the cost, for many people, some event or series of unpleasant events triggered their entry into Stage 3. These people are Truth seekers, and are prone to healthy skepticism. In my case, I started listening to Rush Limbaugh. Then I bought a short wave radio, and listened to Dr. Schroeder's tape about the War Powers Act. Then I bought them Just the Facts video, and so on.

And finally, for the more fortunate of the intellectually honest, there is Stage 4. They grow in their understanding of liberty and sovereignty and can, amongst other things, eventually discern fundamental Truth from patriot mythology. If it can be said that I am entering this stage, then I would say that an important crossroads was my realization that theories like the War Powers Act are not only flagrantly false, but are even harmful to the cause of liberty. Unlike when I first came to the paralegal department, I now realize that the anarchy that exists in our government and the tyranny that arises therefrom, cannot be legitimized by any War Powers Act, Executive Orders, judicial legislation, unbracketed zip codes or what have you. Our Constitution is alive and well, thank you; and all the tyranny and corruption that we have today are the result of nothing other than corrupt individuals in government offices. These corrupt individuals - these seditionists - are acting in their individual capacity, and their crimes cannot be legitimized by any War Powers Act, Corporate United States, United Nations treaties, Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, or anything else. If any government official willfully acts outside the constraints of the Constitution or contrary to our written laws, said acts cannot be legitimized, pure and simple.

It is apparent when a person enters the 4th stage of spiritual growth, because this attainment is not an idle or benign thing. Insofar as our membership is concerned, consistent with the teachings of the Book of James, we are not contented merely to identify and understand the problems plaguing our Nation, but we make great efforts to find solutions to these problems and implement these solutions. Those of our members who established the Liberty Works Radio Network nicely demonstrate this truth. Few people can imagine the financial and emotional sacrifices that went into this immense project. I would say that this is indeed an act of bona fide love indicative of this 4th stage of spiritual growth.

The founders and supporters of Liberty Works Radio Network understand that the only way we can peacefully get the government back under the law, must begin with education. It is only with an intellectually honest and educated electorate that we can begin to elect statesmen once again; and these statesmen will impeach

seditious judges; and then everything will soon thereafter fall back into place, peacefully. It would do no good to arrest Clinton and his regime today, because an ignorant citizenry can only hope to replace one set of tyrants with another. The founders and supporters of Liberty Works Radio Network knew that the only practical way to educate the public en masse was to build our own radio network, because CBS, NBC, or that propaganda arm of the New World Order, CNN, or any of the controlled mass media, are not going to tell the people the unadulterated Truth.

And it's paying off. Not only are we reaching thousands of people throughout the United States, but also people in countries far worse off than us. People are listening to us in far-flung socialist countries like Australia, New Zealand, Finland, etc. Indeed, we are the only network on the entire planet that lives up to its motto, "Truth in Broadcasting." And people are really starting to notice.
