Letters to the Editor

I am, for some reason, on the MoveOn.org mailing list. How I got there I have no idea. If you don't know who MoveOn.org is they are an ultra liberal political action committee. They helped Obama get elected and have decided that National healthcare is their top priority. Supposedly they have millions of members.

A few weeks ago I got an e-mail from them. It was a major crisis. it looked like Obama's stimulus plan would not get passed. they urged everyone to write letters to the editors of their local papers to raise awareness and promote the plan. They even included a link to a nifty little tool to do just that. here is the link:

http://pol.moveon.org/lte/index.html

You can go there and enter your zip code. That will bring up a page where it will list all your local papers. You also have the text box to write your letter. Select the newspaper you would like to write to and click send. Your letter is off to the paper, possibly to get published.

I used this tool and wrote a letter condemning the stimulus plan. This made me feel extra warm and fuzzy since I used MoveOn's tool to do it.

My letter got published in the MetroWest Daily news. I won't reprint it here. As a matter of fact we discuss this on the Feb. 20th NoSSN Radio show.

The tool is still there. Feel free to use it to write your own letters to your local papers. Condemn the stimulus program, ask questions and let it all out. Let's awaken the sheeple!

I just wrte another and sent it to three papers:

When will the American people in general and those of Massachusetts in particular decide that enough is enough? Last November the people of Massachusetts had an opportunity to make the State income tax go away. The people spoke and said, "No. We need to keep the income tax." Now, we are faced with increasing taxes in Massachusetts.

Congress and the President are spending billions and billions on a never ending list of bailouts and "stimulus" packages. They are financing this largely by borrowing using our future earnings as collateral. This will surely enslave us, our children and grandchildren to an ever increasing tax burden for generations to come.

Combine all taxes including FWT, FICA, SWT and employment taxes, add to this sales taxes, fees and licenses. Don't forget to add in the employer portion of OASDI and MediCare. It may not come out of your check but it is your employers cost of keeping you employed, in effect, your money Depending on your tax bracket we are either at or over 50%. I am urging everyone to do the math and see how it looks in your particular situation. How much government do we really need? I ask you, have you had enough yet?

----- End Letter---->

If you do write a letter, make it relatively short, around 200 words. Make it clear and concise. Make a single point and make it easy to read. that will ensure the best chance of being published.

Beginning of the End

Here some things to think about. We have now passed the point of 50% of Americans are now in the "no tax" bracket. That means that we now have a majority of the people with no stake at all in how the government raises money. It does not affect them. They are largely the non-producers in the economy. They do have the will to want to keep the faucet of government benfits flowing. Thinking about this fact and the ramifications it may have is frightening.

Obama is spending at an alarming rate. Alraming may not be a strong enough word. Since he has taken office he has spent more than all the previous presidents combined. Where di this come from? Borrowing mainly. he must view being president as having carte blanche to write whatever checks he wants. Does he realize that this is all the taxpayers money?

Of all the comments I've seen and plans to revive the economy not one has really struck at the root of the cause. People blame greed on the part of Wall street and the banks making loans that should not have been made. There are other theories as well. What is at the root? If one thing had been different this would not have happened. The human manipulation of the money supply and the fact that our money has no intrinsic value.

Had the markets dictated the rates those questionable loans could not have been made, the housing prices would not have gone artificially high and we would not be in this mess. Obama probably wouldn't haven't sucked everybody in with his promise of hope and change since we wouldn't have needed it.

Since we are more id debt than ever before and more people demanding handouts, something has to break. You can't have more than half the people working and the other half living on food stamps. Figure in adminsitration costs and it doesn't work for long before everyone has had it.

Like I said in my letter to the editor above, when is enough going to be enough? When will people wake up and not stand for it any longer? I sense the beginning of the end.

Quote of the Day: "We make money the old fashioned way. We print it." -- Art Rolnick, former Chief Economist, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank

Subject: We predict massive price inflation

The nation's money supply is soaring. Here are the numbers for the past year, as measured by M2 . . .

* In January of last year the money supply stood at $7.3 trillion
* As of this January the money supply now stands at $8.2 trillion
* This means the Federal Reserve has created nearly $1 trillion new dollars out of thin air, in the space of just one year

The Fed claims they're doing this to save the economy. They also claim they'll be able to withdraw this new money as soon as the economic recovers. They'll do this buy selling various financial instruments they've purchased with their funny money. They'll then retire the dollars they receive in return for these assets, thereby shrinking the money supply before it causes price inflation.

This sounds feasible, but can they really do it? Will the market want to buy what the Fed has to sell? The Fed has purchased huge amounts of distressed assets from the private economy, as well as vast quantities of Treasury notes from the government. Will the market want to buy these "assets?"

The Federal government has sold trillions of dollars of Treasury notes to fund their many bailouts and interventions, and they aren't done yet. The market is already flooded with government debt instruments, but Congress wants to sell more and more of them to fund additional vast new bailouts. Will investors want to buy more of these government debt instruments when the Federal Reserve decides they need to sell the ones they own?

And what about the distressed assets the Federal Reserve holds? The Fed bought them because supposedly no one else wanted them. Will that suddenly change once the economy recovers? Doesn't the very idea of an economic recovery imply that people will have better ways to invest their money?

And doesn't an economy that seems to be recovering because of an influx of counterfeit dollars risk collapsing again if those dollars are withdrawn, or suffering through both inflation and stagnation if the dollars can't be withdrawn?

We believe the federal government has created another bubble, this time in their own debt instruments. We believe this bubble will burst, just like the previous bubbles. People will not want to buy the Fed's Treasury notes, just as people currently do not want to buy houses.

The Fed will not be able to sell enough of its assets at a high enough price to withdraw their funny money from the economy. The money supply will remain inflated and prices will rise. Your cost of living will increase and the value of your savings will decline.

You must decide how you're going to respond to this. You can either curl up in a ball and take your beating, or you can fight back. We must look to the future, to an economy free from the booms and busts caused by the Federal Reserve's legalized counterfeiting.

It's time to abolish the Federal Reserve.

As the problems we anticipate manifest themselves the public will become increasingly receptive to this idea. We must be the advance guard, educating our friends and pressuring Congress.

Please use our quick and easy Educate the Powerful System to ask your elected representatives to co-sponsor Ron Paul's "End the Fed" bill.

Use your personal comments to tell Congress you're aware of how much the Fed has inflated the money supply, and the difficulty they'll have in withdrawing this money before it causes massive price inflation.

Then, please check out our partner on this issue, End the FED.
