McDonalds

On Feb 1, 2006, my duaghter got a job with our local McDonalds. Upon getting hired she filled out the stores version of a Form W-4 and declared she was exempt. She also gave the store manager a Declaration of Protected Individual and Work Eligibility Verification and Worker’s Verified Affidavit, Letter of transmittal of “Protected Individual,” Statements in Lieu of W-4 (or its equivalent), Notice of Non-Covered Status,and Notice of No Consent to Take Amounts from Pay for Specific Items (which was signed by myself).
She worked for three days and then was told that she could not come to work unless she supplied a SSN for the company for withholding purposes. I told the owner of the company that it was against our religious beliefs to participate in the SS program and that my daughter had no number. The owner said an unknown IRS agent informed him over the phone that you have to have a SSN to work, no matter what. Of course the owner complied without reveiwing the applicablor the statements given by my daughter upon employment.
Today my daughter received her paycheck, two printouts for the IRS website (Employment Tax Requirements and IRS "Dirty Dozen" Tax Scams for 2006) and a blank Form SS-8.
I intend to talk with the owner one more time before filing a discrimination lawsuit.
