Yet another experience with HIP medical center.
I've been going to this center for medical care for the past year. I didn't use my ss# as identification to be put on my chart, I made up a number, with the ok of the Assistant Administrator. It now comes that I want to register my daughter to see a pediatrician at the center, and I inform them that we do not use ss#'s as identification. I was told by another administrator that although I have been a patient there for the past year that I will no longer be able to see my doctor until I provide my ss# to them. They claim to need it for "billing purposes" but it's already known that the number is used as patient ID on their charts and everything associated with them at the center. I will be putting them on notice tomorrow using the "Legal Notice and Warning" so they cannot say they were not put on notice if I have to haul them into court.
