The gold standard may not be right. Gold and silver are not much different than clay and sand. What did the miner pay the ground when he took the gold and silver? What did the potter pay the ground when he dug out the clay? What did the glass blower pay the beach when he lifted the sand? Nothing, nothing, nothing and nothing. It all comes from nature. You can not pay nature. Nature has no bank account. Nature is. What good is gold and
silver, clay and sand without the work necessary to make them useful? Wealth comes from work. Nothing has value without work. If work is the source of wealth, work should create money. Work CAN create money. Tom worked yesterday. Tom worked today,
and he will work tomorrow. Tom's work creates wealth. All of Tom's work should create new money. Because it doesn't production always exceeds the money supply and we are forced into recession. Multiply that by millions of people working and you can see
why we get into very bad recessions. If work creates wealth and wealth is exchanged using money, then work should create money. When work creates money the money supply will always equal work done. Consumption will always equal production. Recessions will be extinct. You will never have to worry about supply and demand again! But, how can work create money? It's simple! If new work needs to create new money, all we have to do is pay for new work with new money! Banks create new money every time they make a loan or write a mortgage. Just like your bank creates money when they make you a loan the same bank can create money from payroll checks. One way to do this is to have banks supply employers with specially coded checks that the employee can take to his or her bank, and "poof" the bank creates new money on the spot into the account. At the same time the check debits the employer's account the same amount as the paycheck and sends the money to the government.
Bingo! That's the end of the entire tax system and the beginning of a recession-proof economy!
