Blood test for Government Contract work

Within the past couple years passing the word on after my own success we were able to change the policies of how blood tests are identified in North Carolina;

'2003(Spring) - On this occasion I was going through the process of getting hired for a government contract, the requirement was to get a blood sample to test for drugs. The nurse after taking the sample said that since they do not use names on them she requested the ssn.
I proceeded to explain to her that the employer has stated no such terms for this requirement and that it is unlawful for her to require it, she immediately got her supervisor involved and after a short discussion called the manager into the room and told of her the interpretation of the events.
This is what I told the manager:
" It is unlawful for you to require a ssn as identification, the Social Security Administration has stated this many times, I have a copy of the Privacy Act in my car for you to read and after that you can admit on my tape recorder so that I can play it to the employer or court as to why you will not provide services for the employer. "

Her reply; Long pause... "Do you have a Drivers License?"

'2004(Summer)The next contract I did, was only asked for a Drivers License from a totally different company . After doing some digging I found that it was no longer their policy to ask for an ssn and that providing one was "voluntary". By this time I had a NO-SSN card and was a bit disappointed was not able to even use it for it's intended purpose.

P.S. When you get one have the last line on the back put in the color of red in bold, that is usually a nice touch that has dropped the jaws of a couple people. Also on the back remove the nossn logo so the notice really stands out.

Note: The DL was also obtained without using a ssn when I moved to North Carolina in 1995 without a license.
