My name is Jack Keough and I'm a painter, sculptor, photographer, sometime writer, and basement harmonica player. I am an artist, and a passionate lover of virtually any art form. I got my BFA in 1987 from Massachusetts College of Art . The paintings included here are a cross section of my various stlyes through the years. While they feature many images of 'faces', I do not consider myself to be a portrait painter at all. There are too many exceptionaly talented artists that ARE portrait painters who could wipe the floor with the likes of me. I believe what I do makes me more of a subject painter. I work from photographs after extensively researching a person I'm interested in. By "capturing subjects", I think I'm able to create slice of life moments that most people will identify with, and, over the span of the pieces, there is a familiarity with the subjects that I hope will make my audience feel familiar and included on a personal level with the group.
To lift and inspire is my only goal.
Peace.
