| Notes:
This song was written in the early eighties. John and I were in a band called "The Third Half." This was one of our songs. I've always loved this song and never thought it got recorded as it should have. What we have here is real close.

Lyrics by John Lister & Eric Lahna
If they threw a party for all the star crossed lovers of the world
You'd be a hostess and I just another guest
And at this party for all the star crossed lovers of the world
We'd be two in a crowd but babe you know you we're the best

 Chorus
Forever's just a frame of mind, a word used to count the time
But things we know, they come and go but hope will not fade away
By and by you're gonna find, it comes to mind, forever never stays

I wasn't really lonely at the time but I thought I'd been alone too long
But then again it ain't the first time I was proved to be wrong
You told me you loved me forever but that lie's been here to stay
with the checks in the mail and the truck, is on it's way

So here we are at this party for all the star crossed lovers of the world
You're flirtin' with divorcee's and I'm eyin' their flames
But never take a girl home form this party of the star crossed lovers of the world
For I already have and my life has never been the same
