This song has a very cool story behind it. I recorded some music and sent it to John and told him to work his magic with lyrics and melody. He wrote back, "What's it about?" I realy hadn't thought about it so i came up with something off the top of my head opening the door to something off the wall and a bit humorous. I said, "It's about a high school senior who can't make up her mind on whether to go to MIT and become a trustural engineer or become a professional pole dance." In about 20 minutes John wrote back with this. She’s got brains and she’s beautiful; her smile it fills the air She’s the valedictorian; and all her classmates stare She was brought up with principals; she knows what morals are Is it Harvard or MIT? Or pole dancing at the local bar? Chorus; All her girlfriends are envious; it comes so natural to her She seems to be perfect others wish that they were The boys are highly excited when they are watching her pass That’s why she’s sitting so pretty, she’s the top of her class She comes highly recommended; by the faculty and staff She’s got the mind to cure cancer and one US Grade-A ass She’s the queen of the locker room; no one can find a flaw Is it Yale University, or wiggling in the raw? Chorus Her choices feel so difficult. What would her grandmother say? Her mother’s pointing her finger toward the Puritan way She still looking for answers it is a test she will pass That’s why she’s sitting so pretty at the top of her class Chorus |
